"oops I fell out of my swing"
"I love moving my body so much that I wiggled myself right out of here"
"My mommy didn't strap me in....looks like she needs to next time"
"It's a good thing this swing is so low to the ground and it's a good thing I'm so easy going"
"Look at me...I'm just hangin out on the floor....I'm all good....this blankie broke my fall"
"Mommy, Mommy....where are you?"
"oh you're getting your camera.....really you have to take my picture....how embarrassing"

4 months
At 4 months Luke is weighing almost 14 lbs. He is only in the 3rd percentile for height and he is not on the chart for head cir. At our 4 month check he got two shots and didn't even cry. I was concerned about his head being flat so I talked with the dr. about it and he said to go to a pediatric physical therapist. We went and he said it is definitely flat but that he does not need a helmet so we are suppose to just work on positioning him so that he is not laying flat on his back. He prefers turning his head to the left so we are working on him turning is head to the right more and when he sleeps I put him on his belly during the day and at night on his right side. He is having a lot more tummy time and time in his baby bjorn, bumbo and excersauser. And he is spending a lot less time on his back on the floor, in his car seat, stroller, and high chair. As you can see he is now smiling all the time, talking, giggling. It is so cute. He is not rolling over consistently but has done it a couple times. He eats about four 6 oz bottles a day and nurses once a day. I try to feed him baby food twice a day (afternoon and evening). He is wearing 3-6 month clothes. He goes to bed always by 8:00 and will get up anytime after 3:00. He has slept all night but not consistently. If he gets up at 3 or 4 he will nurse and go back to sleep until 7 if he gets up at 5 or 6 that's what time our day starts. I just love how happy he is and how much he is talking now. He is starting to be a lot more active. He wants to be moving his body constantly but when he is tired he will still cuddle up and sleep in my arms.
My sweetie's
Luke is all smiles lately...we love it. He seems to like his big sister and she is still really good with him. The only problem she has is she likes to yell, scream, or make loud noises right in his face because the first time she did it, it made him cry. So now she does it to see if he will cry. I discipline her every time she does it and she still tries to do it everyday....what should I do??

I love to Eat!!!
One thing I have noticed about parenting the second child is that I do compare the two a lot. Probably because Luke reminds me so much of Lauren and it is fun to remember the things I have forgotten. One of my favorite things to do with Lauren when she was this age was to feed her baby food. I know it is messy and looks gross but I loved it when she would just smile and giggle with all that food all over her mouth. And now I get to enjoy it with Luke. He loves to eat and he does a pretty good job. He is about 4 1/2 months now and we started food at about 3 months. We have done rice cereal and oatmeal, green beans, garden vegetables, peas, and sweet potatoes. Today I gave him a bite of my mashed potatos and he seemed to be a little confused. It is so fun to enjoy this stage with Luke.
My Little swimmer!!
What a difference a year makes!! We started Lauren in swimming lessons again. It has been over a year so I wasn't sure how it would go. She listens and does really well.....no crying!! Sometimes if she doesn't want to do what the teacher asks she tells him no.....so we are working on that. She is still a little timid with putting her face in but we are practicing in the bathtub with goggles and she is getting better. Before she practiced in the bathtub I of course had to do it first. So picture me with pink goggles too small for my head bending over the bath tub to put my face in.....pretty funny picture right?? Tuesdays and Thursdays when the weather is nice we go to Anderson pool after lessons. Last year she wouldn't do anything but play in the water. Now she loves the slides. She goes down over and over. She still doesn't really like all the spray fountains or putting her face in but she is getting better and better everyday.
Gymnastics
We started gymnastics this summer and Lauren loves it. Her favorite part is the trampoline. She has really good balance and does well on the balance beam. Here in the last picture she is working hard on doing a hand stand. I was a little nervous about how she would do in a group doing structured activities and listening since she has not had exposure to that. But she did and is doing GREAT!!

The Beach
My sister lives out near a small lake and they have a small beach area. So a couple of weekends ago on a hot day Lauren, Luke and I went out to play with the boys and have a picnic. I think the beach and lake are really really gross and it cracks me up how much the boys love it. Jay was there for no more than 5 minutes and had already caught a frog. Lauren took a little while to warm up to the grossness of the lake but she did end up getting in!! I tried to keep Luke shaded and cooled off so this is a picture of him laying on the beach under an umbrella (the white trash version)!
Oh shit......part 2
For those of you who have been keeping up with my blog Lauren has had a very hard time getting poop trained.....REALLY HARD. Well I can officially say she can do it now. I thought it would never happen and it took living in the bathroom for a while but we did it. Now she sneaks in the bathroom to do it on her own then she calls for me. She usually does it when she is suppose to be napping or in bed for the night. Now we are looking forward to a fun summer.
I wrote this about 3 weeks ago and now we are having trouble again. She has pooped her pants a couple times out in public so we are back to staying home and naked and when we go out I don't let her go more than 30 minutes without going to the bathroom. We are in big trouble when she goes to school....I can't send her to school naked ....can I???

pool time
We are having so much fun enjoying the water!!! Our pool may not be open but we are having a good time at the public pool.
big sister
Lauren is such a good big sister. The other day they were both taking a naps and I was doing my hair and make up. Luke was fussing in his bed and Lauren doesn't really take naps anymore so I said to Lauren "do you want Lukie to keep you company", and she was all over that.. As soon as I layed him down in her bed he was instantly happy. So they played together while I got ready. I had to check on them every minute since I had my 3 year old watching my 4 month old in a giant bed filled with blankets and toys, but they did well together. Luke is wearing a 0-3 month frog outfit....it is one of my favorites. Lauren is playing with a velcro birthday cake....one of Nana's best finds!! We love that cake.....we had to wash it the night Lauren threw up in it....but is is good as new now. I am really behind in my blog posts. I start some and have to save them and come back to them so this blog is probably about 3 weeks old. I am going to try to catch up today so watch out here they come!!!

Lukie Zookie
It has now been a while since Luke has been sick so his personality is really starting to shine. He is smiling and talking a lot. He is a really good baby. He like to just hang out. His favorite thing to do right now is lay on his back and kick his legs and move his arms as much as he can. He is close to rolling over but not there yet. He is still wearing 0-3 clothes. He still loves to eat. His sleep schedule is much better!!! It is still not consistent though. He goes to bed every night around 8. He has slept 12 hours at night but not all the time sometimes he gets up sometime after 4.
