Luke and Neela

This is my friend Janel's little baby.  When we were on bed rest together and after they were born only 2 days apart we talked about how we couldn't wait to get them together and tell them about how much trouble they caused us!!  And almost as soon as we laid them down they started holding hands!  Isn't that so cute!  Luke was 6 weeks early and born first weighing 4 lbs.  Neela was, I think,  a week early, born two days later, weighing 6 lbs.  Luke is a little shorter but definitely weights more.  Both are such good babies.  Can't wait to see them talk to each other some day.

Luke is 5 months!!!

If I could freeze my baby in time this would be the age!!!   I love it.  He is so happy and cuddly and cute.  He laughs and smiles all the time.  He is still not consistently rolling yet but he can do it.  He is eating about three 6 ounce bottles a day and then nurses the rest of the time.  Right after I took these pictures I cut his hair because it was getting so patchy.  I think it looks much better now.  He does not like to be left alone in a room. He usually only cries when he is hungry or tired and that is just a little fuss.  He doesn't get too worked up.  He is a mover.  He wants to kick and play all the time.  His favorite things to do are eat, laugh/talk, and play with his sister.  He is still wearing 3-6 mon clothes.  He is pretty true to size even though I feel like he is huge.  He's a pretty average size baby.  So far he still has those blue "stille" eyes.  I hope they are here to stay.  Luke is such a good baby and I enjoy every minute I spend with him.

jumperoooo!!!

Whoever invented this contraption is a genius and a millionaire.  Both my kids love it and it keeps them safe and happy allowing me to get a few things done.  Thanks Grandma Sharon for buying it for us....we have certainly got our money's worth!!

Cincinati Trip

We went to visit friends in Cincinatti for 3 days.  It was a 5 hour drive!!  These two pictures were taken in the car on the way there.  We were playing flashcards.  The letters Lauren knew she got to keep and the ones she didn't Lukie got to have.  Lukie did great in the car. He slept most of the time and when he was awake he would just happily look out his window.  Lauren on the other hand was a little bit of a chatter bug.
I kept thinking she would fall asleep eventually.  Well she did, when we were 5 minutes away from their house.  The car ride home was even worse.  She was tired and whiney and still wouldn't go to sleep.

Craig's friend Laura has 3 kids.  CJ age 7, Calvin, age 5, and Gina age 2 1/2.  The kids got along really well and had a great time together.
We went to the zoo.  It was a really cool zoo but it was really hot so we didn't stay super long.
Lukie was good at the zoo too.  Just hang in his bjorn.
We couldn't pass up the merry-go-round.  Lukie got to ride too!!
Look at the polar bear!!
Time for a train ride!
Time for a break but who will sit in the stoller?  Ok both of you can.  They rode like this for a while.  Luke is straped in don't worry.  They were both happy as two little peas in a pod.

We also went to the children's museum, which was awesome they had a lot of stuff for babies too!!
It was a great trip...exhausing but great fun with friends.

Random July Pics

This was taken on the way home from Chicago.  We no more got on Lake Shore Dr. and she was sacked out.  Which made for a nice quiet ride home.  Lukie slept too.
Luke is 5 months old in these pictures.  He loves being outsisde.  He is still a good baby.  He's a good eater and a good sleeper.  He is putting on weight...he is actually quite chubby...I love all his rolls.  He is a happy little guy.  He talks and laughs all the time.  He likes his jumperoo and high chair but does not like his bumbo.  He is a squirmy little boy.  He likes to move.  He is still not consistenly rolling over but he can do it.  We went back to the physical therapist and his head is getting better.  But his neck muscles on his left side are a little weak so we started doing exercises  He is so cute when he smiles and puts his hands together.  He is constantay moving his arms and legs but doesn't have a lot of control.  He loves the water.  We go swimming several times a week.

Poor little Lukie has lost almost all of his hair.  He has some blond peach fuzz coming in.
Lauren is a typical 3 year old.  One minute she is delightful and sweet the next she is sassy and rude.  One minute she says "mommy take my picture"  the next minute "no mommy stop I don't want a picture"

We still swaddle Lukie every night.  It helps keep him positioned on his side so that he is not laying on the flat part of his head.  This particular night he was houdini and got himself out.

They are soooo stinkin cute together.  I am trying to enjoy it while I can.  I know soon they will fight all the time but for now they love each other so much.  Lauren takes such good care of him.  She makes him smile all the time and she entertains him.  She helps him roll over.  She comforts him when he is upset.  She want to wake him up sweetly in the morning and tuck him in at nap time.

And she kisses him all the time.  And he just can't get enough of her.

4th of July

The morning of the 4th we got together with Mom, Amy, Jay, and Nick.  We went out to Towanda to see the parade.  We had to have donuts at Nana's house first.

Grandma and Poppy met us at the parade.

That night we went to the Cunningham's for a party.  It was so much fun.  We stayed until midnight.  Lauren had a ball with her friends and Lukie fell asleep at 8ish and slept through it all.
This is Lukie's friend Ian.  He is a month younger than Luke which is kind of funny because his mommy's due date was several weeks before mine.

Boating on Lake Michigan

After we left Navy pier we got to spend time with my best friend Amy on her parents boats.  Her mom and dad are always so nice to have us boating every summer.  I always look forward to it and so do the kids.  They have a beautiful boat and it was fun to cruise out on Lake Michigan over looking the Chicago skyline.  Lauren got to wave at all the people.

Amy and I have been friends since the 6th grade and now she is expecting her first baby....can't wait to meet her.

 A very tired little boy!
