Strawberry Picking

We went last Saturday morning to go strawberry picking at a cute little farm outside of Carlock.  The kids loved it.  Lauren and I did pretty good filling our buckets.  Craig and Luke got about 9 strawberries.  I think Lukie just kept eating them and Craig was just trying to keep track of Luke.  It was fun.  We can't wait to go next year.

Father's Day

Father's day 2013.  I was happy to host this year since I have a great backyard for it!!  We cooked pork chops and hung out all day.   Thanks Father's for being such good dads!!

Cousins

We have Nick every Monday this summer.  It has been a lot of fun.  Luke is trying to wrestle Nick in the first picture.  Lauren and Nick have been doing pretty good together.  They will disagree often but they do love spending time together.  The other day on the way home from the pool Nick was singing a song about poop and turds. Lauren did not like that so she started singing a song about loving her brother and rainbows.  So that is what I got to listen too all the way home.

The Stille cousins were here a week ago.  They came over to play.  Lauren and Dee love to draw.  I was so happy to see how much time they spent on the swing set.  They all had a great day together.

I love Summer!

We spend most days at the pool.  We meet our friends over at Anderson and go to State Farm Park too with Nick.  Both kids are getting pretty tan.  Lauren is getting better at swimming but in definitely not a swimmer yet.  Luke thinks he is a swimmer and jumps right in and goes underwater, but he cannot swim.   I am so glad we do not have the pool anymore.  He has no fear.  We usually take a picnic lunch with us to the pool and stay until about 2.  Then we go home for nap time.

My kids are super small so you would think they eat like birds.....nope.  They are eating me out of house and home.  Luke will put the hurt down on his food a couple times a day.  Lauren just wants to eat every 2 hours!  This picture is of Luke helping himself to the berries.  If I didn't take it away he would eat that whole bowl.
We are trying to work on school work during the summer.  Lauren learned so much this year in K4 I don't want her to lose it.  So we put Luke down for a nap and spend a little time at the table working on reading, writing, and math.

Some wore out kiddos

Bed time...Best part of my day!!!  Being home is great....way better than working, but it has its challenges too!  Challenge #1:  the fighting, #2:  demanding something every minute, #3:  not listening, #4:  timeout (Luke) and sassy mouth (Lauren), #5:   constant messes, #6:  lots and lots of laundry, #7:  getting groceries every 3 days and feeding them 6 times a day, #8:  planning things to do everyday to get us out of the house, #9:   taking everything but the kitchen sink with us on our outings, and #10:  being exhausted.   Sometimes I feel like I live at the zoo!  When I see these sweet little faces sound asleep it makes it all worth it.

Summer has begun!!

The best part of being a teacher is summer's off!  We may not have a big in ground pool anymore but that doesn't stop us from swimming!!  We are off to a good start.  We are spending a lot of time outside.  Both kids love the water.  Luke is doing so much talking right now.  His favorite thing are chocolate milk, wearing his Hattie,  and watching his video.  Lauren has been a little sassy and demanding, but is working at making better choices.  She loves playing with her friends and cuddling.   Yah for summer

The new play set

Last summer the pool came out and our backyard was one big pile of dirt.  Now we have a huge grassy, beautiful, yard and play ground.  It took all weekend to build and some choice words were said but it was worth seeing how happy the kids have been to play on their new play set.

Mother's day

This post is a month over due!  I had a wonderful Mother's Day.  We went to church and to lunch at Schooners.  It was delightful.  Craig got me all my plants for my pots.  Which I am proud to say I HAVE NOT KILLED!  It is so nice to have our own moms right here in town so we could celebrate with then too.  Mother's day is such a special day because not only am I blessed to have a fantastic mom I am blessed to be a mom!
